11 Plus Foundation Course
11 Plus Summer Intensive Course
Year 4 should be the least stressful part of the 11 Plus journey, in fact the student should only be spending 120 minutes maximum every week of doing work. Gradually the time spent on revision should increase, however it shouldn’t be labelled as a ‘chore’, make the transition as smooth as possible.
In English it is important to keep on revisiting terms: grammar, punctuation, etc… It’s very easy to get quickly out of tune with SPaG. To have good creative writing skills, being able to tackle comprehension questions, verbal reasoning and more, you need to have the ‘English core skills’
Before advancing to formal English tests, it’s vital that the pupil has the knowledge and skills of basic English for the 11 Plus. English core skills is aimed to cover these topics so that the pupil can feel confident to move onto assessments. Note that this is ‘stage one’ of the foundation, so in the next stages the pupils will be introduced to ‘short’ and ‘long’ English tests. They will be prepared for this as they have gathered the skills from this book
Y6 SATS SPaG: This resource includes three lesson plans and powerpoints to prepare students for the SPaG assessments. Organised by topic, there are quizzes, detailed responses, homework prompts, etc… to help pupils get SATS ready and boost results instantly.
